Let’s go to Andaman #ExploreIndianIslands - Day 2

With all the grand memories of Day 1, we started Day 2 on an exciting mode, to explore more of the Andaman Islands. Our tour manager was present on Day 1 at the Cellular Jail before the Sound & Light show and promptly gave us the contact details and the ferry tickets for the next 3 days. With the excitement of boarding our first ferry ride across the Andaman Sea, we checked out from our hotel at 0700 hrs and reached the port on time to board our ferry at 0815 hrs. The port had security checks similar to an airport and after that we had a waiting lounge before proceeding to boarding. It was all hassle free everywhere. Our luggage was boarded to the back of the ferry and we started our ride on time to our next Island, Swaraj Dweep (previously known as Havelock Island). It was an amazing ride to the island, filled with ups and downs from the tides and also watching some flying fish racing with us. The ferry was for 1.5 hours and once we reached Swaraj Dweep, after walking through the bridge to the exit, we were met by our local tour manager and we proceeded straight to our place of stay, TSG Blue, for check in and lunch. The resort was so closely located to our next place of sightseeing, Radha Nagar beach, India's cleanest beach (previously Asia’s best and World’s 7th best beach as per Time Magazine 2004).

Visuals from the first ferry ride

In the evening around 1600 hrs, we started to walk to Radha Nagar beach. It was already packed with people, who had gathered to witness the beautiful sunset. That day, the scheduled sunset was to happen at 1659 hrs. The coastal guards stopped people from venturing for a bath or swim in the waters from 1630 hrs. From a good height, the sun set into the horizon in a jiffy within 5 minutes starting from around 1654 hrs. The twilight after sunset was so beautiful to watch. By 1720 hrs, the place was pitch dark and the stars were visible in the clear sky. We took out our tripod to capture some clear and good view of the stars, while gazing at them with our naked eye too. There were plenty of bamboo beach chairs available under the huts, which was also a good place for photo-ops. Radha Nagar beach is also famous for bioluminescence on Amavasya (new moon ) or Poornima (full moon) days, but the day we went was neither, so we couldn’t get a glimpse of this. It was so enjoyable, peaceful and fun to have spent time till 2000 hrs at the beach. It was also beautiful to get some silhouette pictures, some pictures by the trees and with the twilight backdrop which are worth DP material and Insta posts. While walking back, there were some shops there to do some local flavour shopping, before retiring for the day.
